More than just burgers & balls!

Our new generation of Food by Hand products is crafted for one simple reason: to make plant-based food truly nourishing — not just a substitute. Every plant-based burger and ball we produce begins with sprouted grains and legumes grown by local farmers in Värmland. By sprouting, we awaken enzymes that make minerals more available and proteins easier to digest. Then, through gentle vacuum cooking we preserve the delicate vitamins, aromas and textures that make natural ingredients come alive.

Each recipe is scientifically balanced to deliver over 20 % complete protein, naturally rich in fiber, iron, zinc, omega-3 and antioxidants. We use favabean protein concentrate, buckwheat, and grey peas, paired with cold-pressed Swedish rapeseed oil and roasted seeds. To enhance flavour, we layer in some lovely sun-dried shiitake, Swedish seaweed, tomato paste, and caramelised garlic — creating a deep, savoury umami that makes salt almost unnecessary.

Our process is designed with life in mind.
For children, these foods provide the essential building blocks for growth.
For active adults, they support muscle repair and sustained energy.
For the elderly or anyone recovering from illness, they offer complete nourishment in an easily digestible, delicious form.

Behind every bite stands an ecosystem of sustainability. We also plan to run a biochar energy system that will turn organic local farm residues into renewable heat and electricity, while locking carbon safely into the soil — making our production climate-positive and circular by design.
